Interested in Board Service?
Our Board of Directors provides governance, strategic direction, and organizational oversight for the CHEER For Life Foundation and its programs. There are different ways to participate:
Board Members: Voting directors who actively participate in the governance and strategic direction of the Foundation, generally serving a term of at least two years.
Board Observers: Individuals who participate in Board discussions, committees, and initiatives while learning more about Board service, generally for at least six months.
Board participants attend monthly meetings, generally held virtually on Wednesday evenings, with quarterly in-person meetings typically held on a Saturday in the San Francisco Bay Area.
We encourage those considering Board service to review our bylaws and welcome interested individuals to attend an open portion of a Board meeting to learn more.
Looking for Other Ways to Volunteer?
CHEER For Life Foundation welcomes people with different backgrounds, experiences, skills, and connections to our community. Beyond Board service, there are opportunities to contribute through committees, special projects, events, and other volunteer roles.
We especially welcome individuals interested in sharing their skills or experience in areas such as accounting and finance, marketing, grant writing, fundraising and development, human resources, community relations, technology and systems, and preserving our organization’s history—as well as other talents that can help strengthen our organization and advance our mission.
